Why didn’t we know about Archie Powell and the Exports. I mean, why didn’t any of you assholes tell us about our new favorite Madison band. Yes, officially kicking National Beekeepers Society off the top of the heap. This is tasty pop, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy this video for “Loose Change” while we go get naked and drink Colt .45 as all the hipsters are prone to do.
Legendary avant garde musician Stephanie Rearick is part of this project called Oh No. She lives in Madison and owns our favorite coffeehouse. Her man lover who we think is also her husband is the guy on the right playing the tennis racket, but you wouldn’t recognize him because his face is cleverly disguised. He runs Uvulittle Records. This song is pretty, but her music typically baffles us. We think “baffled” is the response she is seeking, so don’t worry about that comment hurting any feelings.
This song makes us think about fairies. And sprites. And Trolls. The cute kind of troll. Not like that creepy fucking troll from the movie of the same name. We hate that guy.
This is a video. It is from the band Awesome Car Funmaker. As mentioned in the previous post not every Madison music Machine member liked Awesome Car Funmaker. We wrote that last sentence in the past tense because the band is no more. They all died from elephantitis. This video is about zombies. Wouldn’t zombies with elephantitis be funny?
Awesome Car Funmaker has broken the hell up and while I don’t speak for the whole Madison Music Machine team I never really cared for the bands music. I do, however, speak for the whole MMM team when I say ACF derserves big ‘ol props the size of my elphantitis infected balls for making this music video.
The August Teens perform their adorable song “All The Elements” at Cafe Montmartre (or as the locals unfortunately call it, because they love reducing the names of bars to baby talk, The Momo). It sounds like a song about girls and science. We like our girls with lots of Ununbium and Yttrium.
Madison’s The Crest were on the cusp of breaking into the big time a few years back with an album we still spin on a regular basis here in MMMHQ. This “Heart Shaped Box” from the album Skeptic.
